Arthur Klipfel III
President & CEO
Arthur Klipfel is a founding Partner of GreenStaxx and Oaktree Development. With 40+ years as an architect and developer, he brings a deep understanding of the challenges in the construction industry and the opportunities to improve efficiencies and quality of the built environment. Art designed the GreenStaxx system and oversees its continuous evolution.
Art has has a master's degree in architecture from Yale University and a bachelor's degree in economics from Cornell. He also completed a year of postgraduate work in architecture at Harvard. After becoming licensed, he perfected a patented factory-built housing system and completed a successful IPO under the name Unihab, Inc.
Unihab’s mission was to design and develop efficient and affordable housing, utilizing factory-built technology when possible. Art served as President of Unihab for 18 years during the 1970s and 1980s, when Unihab completed the design and development of over 1,000 units of housing marketed primarily to young professionals and empty nesters in urban areas. In the 1990s, Unihab was reorganized as a partnership committed to sustainable design and development and renamed Oaktree Development.
After graduating from Yale, Mr. Klipfel won the Paris Prize in architecture and spent a year studying in Europe. He has won two design competitions, one designing a museum for Neil Armstrong, the first man on the moon, and the second a state competition for senior housing in Chelmsford., MA.
Art is married to his partner, Gwen Noyes, and together they have five children.
